Née à Montréal, j'ai grandi à Saint-Lambert avant de retourner m'y établir dans le Ghetto de McGill au début de mes études universitaires. Après un double baccalauréat en littérature anglaise et en histoire de l'art, j'ai complété un bac en droit et je suis devenue avocate. J'ai déménagé quelques fois, fondé une famille, couru le marathon quotidien. Ma vie professionnelle très intense - et payante, il faut le dire, également excitante - ne me laissait presqu'aucun temps libre. J'avais malgré tout cette envie d'essayer d'écrire des romans et composais parfois quelques pages . Il me fallait planifier si je voulais m'y plonger. Je me suis inscrite à des ateliers, j'ai recommencé à écrire... et décidé que la vie était trop courte pour la passer enfermée dans une tour à bureaux.
Une amie m'a un jour envoyé une photo d'Agnès Varda, accompagnée de cette citation bien connue: "C'est tout ce dont vous avez besoin dans la vie : un ordinateur, une caméra et un chat."

Born in Montreal, I grew up in Saint-Lambert before moving back to the city, in the McGill Ghetto, when I started university. I completed a double major BA in English literature and art history, then a law degree, and became a lawyer. I moved a few times, started a family, forged ahead through the hustle and bustle. My professional life - fast-paced, challenging and very demanding, but also highly rewarding - left me with almost no free time. But I really wanted to try my hand at writing fiction and sometimes scribbled a few pages. If I was to have a crack at it, I needed a plan. I registered for workshops, started to write again... and decided that life was too short for it to be spent in a skyscraper.
A friend of mine once sent me a photograph of Agnès Varda, with one of her famous quotes: "This is all you need in life: a computer, a camera, and a cat."
